Well still no official response from IDPA but in talking with a Match Director about the issue, he says that conversion barrels wouldn't be allowed at major matches. The barrel must be the same caliber as the original in the gun, thus allowing for aftermarket upgrades like Barsto, etc., in the original caliber. Conversion barrels would not be the same so wouldn't be allowed. The would be fine for club matches probably, but not for official ones.

I have not heard anything either. Your match director's response would be what I too suspected...

I would expect a response from IDPA in weeks. Maybe months. Took them forever when I had a question.
