Shot my first USPSA match
It's been a good weekend. Yesterday I shot my first steel match and today I went to my first USPSA match.
Quite a bit of the tips I'd gotten at the steel match about my draw and grip were huge helps, as I think I shot the steel parts of today's match better than expected. I was super deficient in some of the real strategy of it all -- reloading during movement, and knowing when to reload early. That being said, I had an awesome time. I shot Production with an XD-9 Service (bone stock) and I don't THINK I was dead last, but I won't know for a few days. We did 6 stages today and the weather was great! Will update this when I get results.. |

cool. im wanting to go get a 9mm and take a stab at a pistol match of some sort. I think it would be alot of fun and great practice to make myself better.
Might just do it one day

Loads of fun aint it?
I shoot my XD9 tactical in Production class. The only mods I have done so far are an extended mag release and added grip tape. No trigger mods or new sights. I am pretty competitive with it. The one thing that helped was getting away from factory ammo. Using 147 gr lead with 3.3 gr powder gave a nice recoil allows the gun to track really well.
