Shot my first steel match.

I've got a decent amount of rimfire shooting under my belt (9k rounds a year) and I picked up an XD-9 Service a month ago yesterday and I've already got 1000 rounds through it. Went to my first steel match today and shot with some of the best guys there.

I learned a TON from the group that I was placed with - everything from the order to engage to where I was losing time, and some of my common mistakes.

On 'fast' stages where the best guys in my group were running 2.5 - 2.8 seconds, I was typically in the 5.0 - 5.5 range, and I saw people in other groups that were running 7+ seconds.

It was a ton of fun, I learned a lot, and importantly to me -- I don't think I was dead last. Results get posted in a day or two.

Tomorrow I might shoot my first USPSA match.

I learned a lot my first match, there was some steel, some cardboard torso targets...lots of fun.

I got 7th place (out of 11) in Pistol Iron on my first steel shoot. Not too bad?

I was 10 seconds out of 6th place, over a 6 stage setup.
