I'm new to comp shooting but for a concealment article of clothing, can it be anything that simply covers the gun? Like an oversized Hawaian shirt or long T-shirt??

I use the Springfield Armory paddle holster. Cheap and it works great.

One thing I like about IDPA is that it's less about the gear and more about your skill. Get an inexpensive Kydex OWB rig and you'll be all right.

From what I have seen Botach tactical has about the best prices on concealment vests. As far as the holster. I would go with either a bladetech or a blackhawk. Some of the others are good also.
