LOL I also do not know what a shooting tree is. Outside of the literal translation being "a tree to shoot at, or a try that shoot back "

Dueling trees on Amazon.com

You can buy them at: Amazon.com: dueling tree

Well, I can't see buying them if you have access to a little bit of ingenuity, and welding machine. A pipe with a clamp holding an over-centering cam with an opposing cam rider attached to the target arms should be sufficient. I'm sure that with a few trial and error types of tweaking, you could have as good, or better than those sold for $$! You could probably even make them with "screen door closers".

Good luck, let us know what you built, or bought.

Being a plumber I would build one out of 1/2" maybe 3/4" black iron pipe. Home Depot sells it and you can even draw up plans and have them cut the pieces for you, This way you could thread it together (hand tight) at setup, and just break it down when you are done if need be. Some rustolium paint now and again on the pipe, and W-D on the threads and in the fittings and it will last forever.

Good luck if you decide to build. PM me if you would like some more input.

First bullet that hits the iron will break it. You need good steel or Armor plate. Iron won't hold up. I have tried.

Brian, how would you build in the "reflex" of the target? When it is hit, it folds back, that way you can see who hit the most targets the quickest (dueling targets).

Here is a video of a simple one: YouTube - The Duelist Competition Resetting Target Stand
