IDPA Targets?

Hi Guys,
I'm thinking about trying IDPA after polishing my shooting skils some more.
I would like to know which target to buy or, the correct dimensions of the target so I can make my own. Any help for a noob would be great.

If you want to do it on the cheap, use paper plates, if you can't hit it, it is a .5 second penalty.

I would suggest getting some real targets too though, Target Barn and Shooters Connection are where I get my target supplies.

MidwayUSA sells paper practice IDPA targets, about $26.00 for a 100. These are great practice targets and much cheaper than the card board targets and are great for practice.

I know this is probably obvious, but what size paper plates do you use? Is it wise to go with the small ones to focus shots and reduce group size? I am wanting to get into this too and appreciate any / all advice.

LAW ENFORCEMENT TARGETS, Paper Targets, Cardboard Targets, Steel Targets, Plastic Targets

has IDPA cardboards for pretty cheap, but I agree with loves2shoot. The big bag of paper plates are probably your best targets.

don't knock these

Go to the matches and shoot. Don't worry about your skill other then being safe. After the match ask to take the used shot up targets. I have a **** load. Get to practice with and it doesn't cost me a dime.
