Power Factor

35. Power factor is calculated using the bullet weight and the average velocity of the three rounds fired, according to the following formula:

Power Factor=bullet weight(grains)Xaverage velocity(feet per second) / 1000

The final result will ignore all decimal places (e.g. for USPSA purposes, a result of 124.9999 is not 125). 125=minimum minor/165=minimum major
\/

That being said, last year at the Area 1 Championship I clocked and re clocked and came up with a 164.8. So I was shooting minor with my XD45TAC in Limited division. I was shooting Wichester White Box target loads 185 grain.

My question is, does anyone know of a Factory load right out of the box that is 185 gr (preferred) and is making Major PF? Through a five inch XD 45. Springer is fitting the Pistol Gear Match Barrel to it as we speak, but I don't know if that makes a difference.

The reason I ask this is because I am not a reloader and the company I work for provides all the ammunition for my matches (when I can go). And the previously stated Winchester and American Eagle 235gr(I'm sure this makes major but it kicks like a mule and is not ideal for USPSA matches IMO) is what they provide now. They will order others upon request. I just don't know what to request.
The Winchester shoots like a dream it sucks I can't make Major with it. Any info will be great. Thanks

HPD:

You might as well wait until you get your weapon back with the new barrel; then test it with your preferred ammo. It may just break 165.
