Is XD losing popularity??

Did you see the survey from nationals in the latest Front Sight? XD lost ground in popularity to the S&W M&P and to the CZ in Production Class. Block (oops, I mean Glock) still has the overwhelming majority. Everybody trying the latest and greatest. I'm of the opinion that if it aint broke don't fix it, and I have NEVER had even a hiccup out of my XD.

My wife and I have an XD-40 Service, an XD-40 Subcompact, a S&W M&P Compact and a CZ PO-1. They are all great guns. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.

The competition market is based on who wins and what gun they are using. Competition shooters seem to think that if they use what worked for the national winner they will be the shiznet. Stick with what works!!!

I've seen those equipment surveys over the years and I don't put much stock in them anymore. So what if Belchfire Tactical lost position over Primerdent Arms? Is a Primerdent gun better? Maybe that gun ran a killer sale while the other had production troubles. Maybe they finally got their factory team together and showed up enmass.

Too many variables to say it means anything. The only thing I get out of it is if what I bring to the line isn't on the list, I better be sure I'm not using some product that is going to fail me down the road.

Pick a gun, pick a load, pick a holster. Load up a bunch of ammo and practice, practice, practice. Points are earned, you can't buy them.

Hey out of the three listed that is taking our XD's market share, I can only agree on the CZ being worth the while. It's a fine gun.

As for the other two, you know how sheepish yuppies are.... Brand Recognition and that is all they are going on. And that junk M&P is being sold dirt cheap so that cuts the XD sales a lot, too. But you get what you pay for. Long after that M&P is in the junk heap, our XD's will keep on shooting!
