2008 Golden Gate Regional IDPA Championship

July 11 & 12, 2008

Registration for the Golden Gate Regional IDPA Championship is now open. This year's match will be held at Northern California's own Richmond Rod & Gun Club in Richmond, California.

2008 Golden Gate IDPA Regional Championship

The match will include 10 stages, 120 competitor slots, and nearly 18,000 rounds expended over two days. We will also have a large prize table and a Saturday BBQ dinner included with the registration fee.

The dates are Friday, July 11th and Saturday, July 12th. Safety Officers and Staff will shoot on Friday, with the main competition taking place Saturday.

The match will be open to all classifications (including Novice), and you will need to have either shot a Classifier Match or a Sanctioned Match after July 1, 2007 (requirement not applicable to "Master" classification).

This is a great opportunity to take part in a major Northern California shooting competition, even if you don't consider yourself a "championship" shooter. We encourage you to consider competing and enjoying a great day of shooting and fun.

We also have several staff positions still open if you wish to help out and earn a substantial discount off the match fee.

We've added two more classifier dates at Richmond for those interested in shooting the Golden Gate Regional (or just simply getting classified). Space is limited and priority will be given to those who are signing up for the Regional.

Saturday, May 31st @ 9:30am
Saturday, June 21st @ 9:30am

Cost will be $10 for each gun with which you want to classify.

We can accommodate 15-16 shooters on each day. To sign up, send an email to jim@goldengate-idpa.com.

Thanks to the generosity of Bar-Sto Precision Machine (bar-sto.com), we are offering an early registrant drawing for a match-quality Bar-Sto barrel certificate (a $200 value).

To be eligible, your registration forms and payment must be received before Monday, June 2nd.

If you wish to sign up, but will not be able to shoot a Classifier until after that date, you may register now and provide your proof of Classification after the June 2nd deadline.

A couple quick updated items:

- The tentative baseball cap design is now online. To order, visit the Registration section of the match website.
- Blackwater Worldwide has signed on as a sponsor, and is providing a certificate for the prize table for a free 5-day pistol or rifle training course. And, oh by the way, that includes lodging and the ammo for the course. That's a nice $1500-2000 value for one of our competitors.

We reached our 120 competitor maximum yesterday. Startling, since we were at 40 registrants just 30 days ago. We've started a waiting list, so if you are interested, see the info on the website.

We have some really good shooters signed up, but it looks like it is going to be a brawl in the CDP, SSP, and ESP Marksman classes.
