haha, good thing is my wife loves shooting and playing paintball. She's been begg'n me to get her a Ion Smartpart, but from my experiance, I'd rather get her something better. As for the rifle, she got a 10/22, Buck Mark II and a C9 already.....thats within a year!! and she wants a XD40 after shooting mines....know what I told her?

What ligament did you tear? If its the ACL it will never heal. All the others will take 6-9 mo. I know because I damage my ACL, MCL and PCL playing football the last weekend in September. I've played football, basketball and paintball but not at the level I was once at. I'm thinking about getting surgery to replace the ACL and clean up the knee.

We play pretty frequently here. I play with a group of guys between ages 24 and 31, so we're usually some of the older people out there, but we still have a good time. And at the end of the day we can go have a few drinks to soothe our battle wounds, where the other guys can go have pizza with mommy. Ha.

Try this one out. I'm a 38 year-old doctor who just started playing paintball in November of 2006. An equipment rep took a bunch of us from the OR out to a local field for a day of woodsball. We were all hooked. Now one of the guys with us and his two sons had played and had their own markers and ate our rental-marker using lunches. One thing about doctors, we're a competitive bunch. By the next weekend we all had a bunch of Tippmans and Spyders which we were told were great guns. We did better in the woods this time.

Then we watched a couple speedball teams practicing on an airball field. And 20 of us went up against 5 of them. They cut us to ribbons. That was it. We formed two 5-man speedball teams, bought speedball markers (Planet Eclipse Eteks, a couple of us have Ego 7's, some Ions, etc...). We entered the five man tournament series at our field starting last March and ending last November and our two teams took first and second places respectively.

The age range of our teams is from 27 to 42.

Can't wait for this season!

In keeping with the fact that we're all doctors or work in the hospital our team names are Bad Medicine Black and Bad Medicine Green.
That's me in the red hat.

I used to play a lot in high school and my freshman year in high school. Still have all my gear (including an $80 jersey I wore ONCE . . . urgh) and wouldn't mind getting back into it if I have a chance to. I've got a Tippmann 98 Custom that was worked over a bit and a SL-68II that I picked up for cheap. I actually liked playing with the pump gun better (that thing was built like an Abrams!) and got several complements on how well I could hold my own against 'Cockers and the like.

Hmmm . . . maybe I should send those back to Tippmann and get them refurbished.

Oh, and the reason I got out of it . . . got into handguns, rifles, and shotguns.

This is the bestpost so far... I love how doctors are cool. When I was younger, I use to work as a courior for doctors. I had a bunch of doctor friends. Gotta say, they were a cool bunch to just talk to even though I only spoke with them like a minute a day each, it was like we knew each other for years! by the way, good job doc and all who are doc's! and, keep up the good work....Im talking about paintball.

Just out of curiosity, are people able to see the picture in my post above? Sometimes I can, sometimes I can't.
