Airsoft on its way - training to come (video)

Since I've been eager to practice for USPSA at home, I thought I'd finally break down and get an airsoft pistol. I compete with a Beretta 92F (and sometimes with my XDSC). I bought this one - an HFC M92 Vertec METAL Gas Blowback Pistol

I don't know anything about airsoft guns, so hopefully this one is decent. Not looking for top of the line, just something that I can practice drills with at home.

I found these videos someone posted showing training scenarios with airsoft.

Have any of you tried this type of training? Did it help?

I don't think I'd want the little BBs all over the place.

I'll just do it in the garage. We've got a 3-car garage. So I'll just pull the cars out, set up some old USPSA targets, maybe hang an old sheet behind on the wall, and then have at it.

Anyone know if you can reuse the bbs after shooting them?

Yes, you can reuse them. Just make sure that they are in good condition. Sometimes they can get cracked or split, and using a damaged one might jam the action on the pistol.

These are great for training. We have used them for force on force, draw stroke practice, and other uses.

I will tell you that getting shot with one of the CO2 powered ones hurts.

yeah, I use airsoft it for IDPA training. We're pretty lucky to have a huge empty room in the back house so I use that for my course. Im getting the blow-back and loading them up with 10 rounds only. But for now, I have the CO2 powered ones. They hurt more then Paintball thats for sure and I've played Paintball for 12 years! I got some video's of me training..but its somewhere on this forum too...

I have been thinking about using an airsoft to practice in my basement. How do I know what kind to get? I have an XD 9m 4". They do not have any airsoft ones. Where is a good source for that stuff?

I think the closest they have to the XD would be the glock. I've been looking for a XD too but I settled with a 92SF.

Every place I've ever read about air soft has said not to reuse them. They only cost $15 for 5,000 of them. Why send a bunch of dust, dirt, and cracked pellets back through your gun?

If you got a gas blow back gun you can get an adapter and fill them with propane instead of green gas.

Yep, I got one with gas blowback. I also bought the propane adapter. Do you put oil (silicone?) in between the propane cylinder and adapter?
