I shoot a 40sc in IDPA. Still pretty new and haven't shot the classifier yet but my scores are right up there with the ESP Sharpshooters. I shot the wife's XD9 service at IDPA practice vs. my 40sc and shaved about 5 total seconds over 3 stages. The gross time differences were negligible but the XD9 was more accurate so I had less points. I will probably get an XD9 Tactical for my IDPA gun.
I put XS Big Dot sights on my 40sc. The Big Dot sits up a little higher than the stock sights so it was a very tight fit in my Serpa holster. I took a round chain saw file to the holster and was able to get enuf clearance for the sight without messing up the holster. As far as sights for the XD9, the wife kinda liked the glock sights with the white square U on the rear sight. I coudn't see spending a lot of money to try different sights so I purchased some sight paint (+/- $15). I painted the front sight green and put an orange colored square U on the rear sight. Works great with quick sight alignment. May go to a fiber optic green front sight later. |

Gday
I had a set of those on a G17 for IPSC, same problem with Uncle Mikes holster ended up with a Bladetech no issue there as they have a deeper sight channel. When I got my HS9 Tactical I got a Dawson fibre front to match factory rear but have since gone back to the factory front sight. Terry Last edited by terrydoc : 01-06-2008 at 10:38 PM. I wanted to have an XD-9 Tactical worked on for ISPC Production class and wondered what you guys thought. On some other forums people recommended the Springfield Custom Shop and their "Production package" for $525.
I see around here people like Springer Precision and Canyon Creek Custom. Any thoughts on which place people prefer? Thanks.

I shoot IDPA with my XD40 Service and XD9 5".
The XD40 is stock except for Heinie "blackout" (no dots) sights. The XD9 has Springer trigger work, and Dawson sights with a front fiber optic, and a polished feed ramp. |

I shoot Limited-10 with my XD-40 tactical. Manage to get all the way to my B classification with it. Might make A this summer if all goes well.
![]() I picked up a XD-45ACP Tactical that I am thinking about using in production with some bunny fart loads. mcb |

Bone stock XD9 Service for IDPA. Sometimes I shoot my carry XD40sc.
I'm not a "gamer". I just like drawing from concealment and shooting fast.

I shoot an XD9 Tac with TruGLo TFO sights, DGR w/ 16lb spring and a Canyon Creek trigger job. I tried the Dawson fiber optic sights, but at the one indoor range I shoot at, the flourescent lights just didn't give me enough illumination at the front sight. The trigger job is excellent. Went with 3lb.
