Did someone invite/sponsor you? Or did you just Google it? Have you been in touch with George (the club president)? Not that any of that is required. I'm just curious. If none of those are true, then I'll make sure you get situated and introduced to the group.

Salilus did great. I think he lied when he said it was his first time. I'll let him tell his story.

We shot four stages. I bombed the first two. If the guy before me is a fast shooter, I screw up my timing and have a tendency to shoot fast. Accuracy goes out the door. I missed two head shots. Then, I got a Procedural Error on the second stage. I guess I didn't hit the magazine release button enough and the magazine didn't drop so I pulled it out and kept it in my hand and finished the stage. Oh well. It's all about having fun.

It might be your last.

IDPA stepped up the fun level for me. I enjoy lane shooting but this is even better. As they say in the club... IDPA = I Don't Practice Anymore.

I've only shot one action pistol match, but the one thing I was told was to go slow and shoot for solid hits instead of a quick time.

I was 12 out of 14, but the majority of my hits were really good.

OMG that was the most fun I have had in a LONG time!!!

I was invited there by Phillip W. He was my Fiancee's old boss at the Tick Lab. He is a CDP Master so I figured I needed to practice up before I got there. I noticed what I like to call the elevator effect. You can have a perfect train of thought until that buzzer goes off and then nothing......

First stage I gave a hair cut on the first Mozembique(sp?). Had a little trouble with exposing my self later on a barricade.

Other than that, it was the only problem I had other than not remembering how to count rounds. I was planning the stage before I shot the last stage seeing where my reload would be. Well I miscounted and was prepared for a reload one target too soon. So it was shot pull to retention, wait, why isnt the slide locked? Aquire sight picture, shot, retention, wait, why isnt the slide locked? Aquire sight picture, shot, reload.

That had to hurt on the last stage but overall I think I did well with 13th outta 28th in all divisions\classes for my first time out. I need to step up the movement between shots and getting that first sight picture after moves faster....

The top dogs there were SMOKIN'

I was dead in the middle of the pack with 79.xx and top taking it with 39.xx. I cant imagine shooting twice as fast as I did...

Another convert

Glad you liked it.

I don't know why some IPSC shooters think IDPA is crap.

They both have their place and are just games.
