Correct XD-9 grip
Hi,
I'm new to pistol shooting and need some help regarding how to hold my XD-9 Tactical. My right hand is my predominate hand to hold my XD-9. For two-hand shooting I tend to wrap my left (weak) hand index finger around the front of the trigger guard. The other three fingers on my left hand wrap around the three fingers of my right hand holding the pistol grip. I have not seen any pictures of shooters holding their pistol the way I do . . . I want to learn the correct way and would appreciate all comments and help. Regards, Jim |

welcome to the boards. The correct shooting grip is to start with the index finger of your right hand and place it on the trigger(unloaded weapon) at half of the first pad of that finger. Then wrap the rest of your hand around the back strap of the weapon with your thumb on the left side of the weapon as you are holding it. Take a high grip with the web of your hand against the beavertail. Place your left hand on the left side of the weapon, palms touching, and thumbs stacked...your left hand thumb should be under and touching part of your right thumb. You will notice both thumbs will be pointing parallel with your muzzle. Make sure your thumbs are touching the weapon(usually one on frame and one on slide). Wrap your left hand fingers around the right hand fingers and your ready to go.
