Question Bases for Pepper Poppers

I'd like to find an easy design I could make myself at home. I work for a metal fabrication job shop that does occasional orders for a steel target company. The other day, we had just finished up a large order of large and small, and pepper and classic poppers. The machine operator running the job knew I was into shooting and was kind enough to notify me that they had tossed 4 mini pepper popper plates in the recycling bin that were out of spec (cosmetically, not dimensionally).

So of course they are sitting in my garage now (yes they're made of AR500)
Anyhow, I've been looking around online for a material list on a cheap base design. Here is some pics from the base made by Arntzen (http://www.arntzentargets.com/poppers.htm). Looks pretty basic, and cheaper to make at home than the $86 +shipping it would cost to buy 1 from them...

Ideas/suggestions welcome guys

That's pretty much the standard for poppers in terms of design.
