Roger, check out "The Silhouette: Gun Games" forum. There are a lot of good threads in there. Of some board members shooting their XDs along with scores and gear suggestions.

I've been into IDPA and want to get into USPSA as I don't have to take off from work to attend but I have to get my membership and safety card first.

Look for a club in your area and see which day they have their matches. Then go out and watch the fun. Go up to registration and tll them you're interested. They may assign an experienced shooter with you to walk and answer your questions. I wouldn't recommend shooting your first day there. I would watch a match or two and get a feel for the game and how the stages are ran.

Oh ya, forgot to mention that I had a "click" or commonly referred to as FTF. Right after a transition I pulled the trigger and nothing happend, so I looked at the chamber and it was loaded along with being cocked (love the chamber indicator and firing pin indicator), turns out when transitioning I shifted my grip and didnt depress the grip safety. Problem was easily fixed by quickly regripping gun without loosing much time. I about had a heart attack after the stage because my XD has never given me any trouble. Stupid human errors!

I'm shooting my 45 in production and you're right, it's addicting. I've been going through withdrawls since WVPPS's May match was the Sunday before finals for me and this month was cancelled.

July 15th can't get here soon enough (though, I need to get a uspsa membership so I can get classified)

That is the biggest problem I find with USPSA. I'm new to the sport as well, and I shoot the Tactical XD9. Very, very nice. In fact, I just received my FRONT SIGHT magazine after joining the organization. Great info and articles.
