What can be done to your XD and stay in Production Class. In English.

I have read the rule book, searched the internet, etc. I just want a straightforward answer. I already understand about the sights, you can change as long as you stay notch and post type sights.

How much work can be done to the trigger? Are the trigger jobs by Springer, Canyon Creek, Springfield Custom still allow the gun to be Production Class legal?

Trigger Job, Barrel, Sights are pretty much it. You can install a Canyon Creek Mag Release Button (not going to argue this anymore) and grip tape if you want too.

Based on the pending new rules I would go with a 3lb trigger. Not sure if anything else has happened with this rule change.

You could polish the feed ramp too.

Check out www.canyoncreekcustom.com under "Production Ready" - everything there is production legal - its what I compete with.

I can tell you I contacted Scott Springer (Springer Precision) and told him I wanted my XD set up for Production USPSA. He recommended and installed a fixed Dawson black rear sight, fiber optic front, extended magazine release button and a 3.5# trigger job. Rumor is USPSA rules for '08 may dictate a minimum 3.0# trigger pull, so I agreed with not going below that weight. His recommendations have worked fine for me.
