A great day for the whole family.

First the wife, which i would hazard to bet shoots a lot better than some on here, made marksman in esp last night. her first classifier shoot was about 265(we had some practice to do) the next time we shot it she shot a 195(tons better but still doesn't classify). and now for the good news last night she shot a 154.10............ Shes made marksman!!! but the big deal is that she never picked up a pistol till i bought her an xd9 and ran her threw my practical pistol course, which was about 2 months ago.

And now my great news. I didn't quite make expert in esp (2.57 seconds) but i did make expert in SSP last night and am 5 seconds off expert in CDP. I'm waiting for my xd to get back from the custom shop and ill knock that little bit of time off my classifier and then its master or bust. ill make master in at least one division before the end of the year.

so big congratulations to the wife. now she can buy her own equipment.

good stuff! hey, a question for you and other competitors you brought to mind - I've been shooting primarily USPSA Production (XD9Tac) and IDPA CDP (1911), keeping to one division per "org" - do you think I should stick with that?

I didn't want to get "confused" and wanted to focus my progress in each one since I'm relatively new. I shoot my first IDPA classifier in two weeks and was originally thinking just shooting CDP, but now considering maybe trying ESP as well?

Shoot the same guns, but mix up the divisions.
You can shoot the XD in ESP, Production, and Limited (Minor, though)
You can shoot the 1911 in CDP, L10 and SingleStack.

More shooting = A Good Thing.

BBunin, it was actually the stage you were RO that got me rethinking the whole multiple gun/match thing. After I shot it with my XD9 and did ok, then came back second time through with my 1911 and screwed up the first shot because I "forgot" the safety, which threw me off the rest of the stage...then I wasn't moving right, shooting right or anything till next stage. ; (
