Rifle/Carbine Match Today

Man this stuff is even more fun than the regular pistol courses.

Took the SKS out with me. The field was dominated with ARs and AKs. There was 1 M1 Carbine and 1........Marlin Camp Carbine in .45ACP. I thought that was pretty neat. You would hear all the BANG BANG BANG of the rifles then pop pop pop of the .45.

Managed to get away with 9th out of 25 shooters using a "Commie Gun" with those "outdated stripper clips". Heard some comments about "hey check out the guy using stripper clips". If I counted right I was getting right around 7secs to reload. It seems like an eternity in the video but when I was doing it on the range it went real fast. I plan on practicing them more so I can get smoother and faster with it.

Below is some pics I'm waiting for Google to approve my vids and I'll post them up later:

THis was STAGE 1

Unknown shooter on Stage 1

Looking downrange. They setup the courses at the end. YOu can make out the stages (3 total).

Here's my goofy ass. I used the Dump pouch there attached to my belt to hold my filled stripper clips. I kept the first one I would load then toss the second one as I went for the bolt handle.

Pic of Stage 2 the funnest of them all. You HAD to fire from the two windows on the end and the one in the middle. The others you could choose in any order you wanted.

From here you can kinda make out stage 3. YOu had to stand in the one box (I knelled when I fired) and fire two rounds into each target. Then mandatory reload and fire two more into each target again.

I would but I go on leave that day to head to a family reunion. We are having a classifer match on the 26th of this month. From what I heard.

Edit:Forgot to tell you B&R Guns dosen't have a website. I just happened to find their phone number on the USPSA website and went from there. If you want I'll send you a PM when the next one is.

26th of this month is the next shoot.

Here is the e-mails we received from the guys who sets all this stuff up for us.

Quote:
Thanks so much for coming. Sorry that we didn't have a fourth stage.
We didn't have the manpower at 0700 to make it happen. While I'm
apologizing, sorry about the scores. The divisions and power factors
weren't input correctly. The power factors did affect a couple of
shooters and their results are skewed.

Match Winner, Open Class is J Helms. Other Open Class Shooters (Optics
or select fire) please add 24% to your Match % by stage and overall.

Match Winner, Limited Class is Ed McCamish. Other Limited Class
Shooters (Iron Sights) please add 27.264% to your Match % by stage and
overall.

High Pistol is Billy Ellison. Pistol shooters...you got what you got.

It appears by turnout and by comments, that we will do this some more.
Plan for Pistol on even months and for Rifle on odd months.
Stage1 me:
10th
68 Points
Time 29.88secs
Hit Factor 2.2758
Stage Points 43.2015
Stage % 54%

Stage2:
17th
Points 73
Penalty 10
Time 32.60
Hit Factor 1.9325
Stage Points 42.5380
STage % 53.17

Stage 3
Points 76
Time 27.03
Hit Factor 2.8117
Stage Points 36.5684
STage % 45.71%

Finals:
9th
Match Points 122.3079
Match Percentage 49.504
