Don't ever compensate for 2nd shot control. Rather, work on accuracy then slowly speed that up until you achieve your goal of double tap time. Work on accuracy and speed will come. A shot timer works well.

One of the best drills for recoil control is the Bill Drill. Named for originator Bill Wilson it's simple but not as easy as it sounds.

USPSA target at 7 yds. No USPSA target? A 8.5" x 11" sheet of card stock will work. Close enough to the USPSA A zone of 6" x 11". Wrists above shoulders. At the tone draw and fire six shots. All six must be in the A zone.

This drill will tell you right now if you're just pulling the trigger fast or that you are aiming each shot as you should. This drill will also point out shortcomings in your grip or stance.

Move the target in to 3 yds or out to 15 yds and note how you change the type of sight focus (aim) required to complete the drill.

Once you have mastered the doubletap, you are ready for the elusive and powerful tripletap!

Aim.

I've noticed for me the sights go slightly to the right on recoil. I will try to make sure my left wrist is locked next time. Also when I hurry a little I still shoot to the left. Target says too little trigger finger? I'm using the pad of my finger and trying to be sure to pull it straight back.

Any suggestions welcome.

Try lifting your right elbow a tad.

Visited the range over the weekend. Noticed the elbow tends to drop. I need to pay more attention to this and to pull the trigger straight back.

I need to be consistent and not fling bullets out there. Last target was 1.5" group at 25'. I think I can do that on a regular basis now. Next time I will move the target out to 30'.

Thanks!
