XD9 Tactical, recommended sights?

Hi, i just had a tiny competiton arranged with some guys, and i got COMPLETELY hooked.

I ran home and now im about to pimp out and xd9 tactical.

what should i get?
i've been looking at:
new sights, new grips(the tru grips), maybe a new guide rod, and a new holster perhaps.

first things first, what sights would be recommended for an XD9 Tactical?

thanks!

First off, what's wrong with the sights you've got now?
If you said that you can't pick them up fast enough, then go with a set of TruGlo or Dawson Fibers. I use the TruGlo TFO's and they rock!

If you're expecting the sights to improve your accuracy, they won't.
A new Guide rod won't make a bit of differnce. It's there so you can swap springs around if you reload.

If you want to significantly improve your competition shooting with your XD9 5" (Note that that's what I compete with), here's the best $100 you can spend:
4-5 boxes of 100rd Winchester White Box ammo from WalMart.
Practice, Practice, Practice. Then Practice some more.

AFTER you've got 500 - 1000 rounds or so thru it, and it doesn't take long at all to do that, you might want to send it off to Rich (Canyon Creek) or Scott (Springer Precision) for a trigger job. Other than that, you're solid.

yeah yeah, dont think i dont know this.

The reason im interested in new sights is because the upper is at a guy who said he will install them for free, plus, it floats my mall-ninja boat.

and i have 1k of ammo on the way.

For normal shooting or carry, the stock XD sights are ok. But for competition, honestly, they kind of suck. The front sight is too thick. I like a really skinny fiber optic front sight against a black rear sight. This both draws your eyes towards the front sight and gives you some light on each side of the front sight allowing, in my opinion, both a faster and more refined sight picture.

Rich at Canyon Creek installed my Bomar adjustable sights. The melted or
buried mill work is outstanding, worth every dime.

I agree with practices, but at a techincal/physical level. The OEM sight suck (IMHO), and the trigger over travel can affect accuracy. So I reccomend some fiber optics (I like mine big, I have tru glo's and my service 45 and love them) and I will be getting the biggest front firber optic I can for the XD9TAC.

I have fiber optics on my USPSA wheelguns but with my XD's, I rub an orange grease pencil in the front sight and it works just as well.
