The reason we love Practical Shooting sports!

If you have never shoot IDPA, USPSA, IPSC, etc., take a look at this and I am sure you will go to www.idpa.com or www.uspsa.com and look for a club near you.

sample video: http://www.hosercam.com/video/dwightshouse.mpg

More videos: http://www.hosercam.com/

Enjoy,
OS

I have yet to truly do shooting as a sport. Every match I've wanted to go to except one, something came up and I was forced to stay home. However I will say this, i wish I had a friend who could go along with me!! The one I did go to, it would have been nice to have a friend go shoot with me so I didn't feel like an outsider. Granted, the people were nice to me and all, but it's just not the same as having your friend there.

At least my gf was nice enough to come watch me, too bad she doesn't care much about shooting.

I try and go once per month. I have a blast, literally. Wish I had time to do it every weekend.

I shot last night! Great time too, even though I had 4 procedurals for not getting my left foot in the box before engaging targets . Had it all planned out but didn't get it right. That really hurt the score too. But even with that happening I had a really great time. Always do.

Everyone should give this a try once. If you like a challenge, you'll find it in USPSA.

Yeah, ok. I'll maybe think about going to something like that WHEN I can start hitting the bull's-eye 100% of the time. I'm still shooting low left at times. I'm still working on grip/stance/trigger pull/recovery/breathing. Ugh. I'll never be a good shot!

I know it takes practice, but with my schedule and finances, I can't get to the range weekly to practice.

Well unfortunately, unless you're a natural, it will take practice. Don't give up. You'll get there.

One thing that can help a lot is to get a shot timer (not required but helpful) and practice dry firing at home. I bought some 1/4 size targets and place them around the family room and practice that way sometime. It's a great way to get in a lot of draws, transitions and work on trigger control at no charge . This is recommended by all the top shooters.

I wouldn't shoot any of those...They aren't 'tactical' enough for me.
