A good friends once that said that Practical Shooting is like sex. No matter how long it lasts or how bad you are at it, it is always good.

Do go shoot and don't worry about how well you do. I promise, no one there cares how well you do but yourself. Relax and just have fun. I promise, each time you shoot a match you will improve.

Once you try USPSA and find out how much fun it is, you've got to try 3 gun.
I'm shooting 3 gun at Owensboro tomorrow. I usually shoot Heavy Metal (XD45, M1A Bush, and Win Model 12 pump). Tomorrow I'm going to shoot my "girly " set up-Para 16-40 Limited pistol, Bushmaster 16" AR, and Mrs. Airedale's Benelli M1. It should be fun.

Thanks!!! The first time I went through, clicked on the region map, then went to the pull-down menu...and there's nothing listed for Georgia. Good deal & thanks for the reply. I found it & better yet, some near my house.

This is probably a stupid question but I'll ask it anyway. I've got a Beretta 92F and an XDSC 9. My Beretta is mainly for evening home defense. My XDSC is for personal carry. Which one would be better for competition? I don't want to spend redundant money - e.g., mag pouches for both, ...

Funny thing is the Beretta pouches should fit the XD. The holster would be the only difference. I would shoot the 92F just one hadling characteristics alone. Those guns are well ballenced and they have a single action trigger that will help if you can keep that first shot on the target! Keep your XDSC for BUG matches.

I thought it was just me that buggered up that first shot. I did make a slight mod to the sear (polished touching surface) & changed the main spring (shorter one that Beretta went to after the 92F). So I may to see if I need to back out the changes. I've got the original main spring and a replacement sear that's new & untouched.

I forgot about the mags being essentially interchangeable (with a slight mod). Sounds like I need a holster for the Beretta. Perhaps you and/or Old School have a recommendation. Old School, if you sell 'em - pistol gear would be my first choice. You were a great help on the Hume Open Top choice.

Thanks guys. I've been wanting to get into this for some time and this post worked for pushing me over the fence.

I shot with someone who had a Berreta yesterday. Mag holders will work for both the Berreta and XD. The holster will not work. He has an Uncle Mike's holster for his Berreta. These seem to work well for the price.

I think you need to go double action on that first shot?
