Lots of XD's at Crooked Creek here in NE Ohio.
We had pretty good weather for the match this weekend. Threaten rain for a little bit but we stayed dry none the less. We had a record or near record turn out with 75 guns signed up. There were lots of XD's shooting. I think the first squad I took out that morning had four or five XD's in it and I was shooting my Revolver that time. Good to see that many XD's out there shooting. I know I met at least two members from XDTalk, that were in squads I was RO'ing.
If your curious the stages diagrams are here. and the results are already up at USPSA main sight in the Members area under Crooked Creek Conservation Club. I managed to win both Revolver (there was a whooping two of us) and Limited-10 Good weekend of shooting. mcb |

Interesting to see the stages that other people are shooting. We always get one stage that is very difficult with swinging targets, clamshells, and of course hostages.
Looks like you guys are well organized. Our scores aren't up yet.

MCB it was nice meeting you yesterday, you guys run a nice efficient match. I was able to shoot through twice in barely more time than shooting through once at some local matches I hit. I've shot at probably 12-13 different clubs and you guys are up there with the best crews I seen based on yesterday. Any folks out there within driving distance Crooked Creek should definitely make it a point to shoot some of their matches.

Don't Forget a Targettttttttt
I shot basically the same coarse in OKC Gun Club and I Loved it. Just forgot to engage a target. If it was that easy it wouldn't be fun Ha.

Yeah it was a good time on sun. I could only shoot once
I took 4th in production.... There were quite a few XD's. In the group I was in there were more XD/glocks than 1911's

The efficiency is mostly due to our statistician/CRO he runs a good match when the rest of us slacker RO's can keep up. He does a great job at getting the results up on the USPSA web sight really fast.
Assuming I can work out the final bugs I built a new moving target that we will hopefully be able to run at next months match. I have had this idea for a pop out IPSC target for a few weeks and finally got the time to build it the previous weekend. The idea started when I had a linear bearing set from a cabinet pullout left over from a cabinet I tore apart to make the dishwasher cabinet when remodeling my kitchen. So with the salvaged linear bearing, a few long screen door springs and some odds and ends from junk box in my shop I started my construction. Well after a few hour of working and several metal splinters in my hands I had success. It's a pop out IPSC target. The front target is a no-shoot and when activated (most likely by a separate falling steel target) the shoot target pops out to the right side of the no-shoot and then quick back behind the no-shoot. Here it is in it's original state the day I built it. It was a bit fast so I slowed it down a touch. http://my.stratos.net/~thedump/pract...out_target.mp4 The slowed down version. The dowel rod and PVC pipe you see added to the bottom are a home made dash-pot that is slowing it down. http://my.stratos.net/~thedump/pract...rget_dash3.mp4 And finally here it is in action at practice last Wednesday. In this final video clip I shoot the activator, two shots at the right stationary target and then two at the moving target. The time seems pretty good to let experience shooter shoot the activator and one or more other target before shooting the mover and for newer shooter there is plenty of time to shoot the activator and directly to the mover. http://my.stratos.net/~thedump/practical/mcb_pot.mp4 I have a few minor bugs to work out so that it resets easier and will survive being use 75+ times in one day but hopefully next month match will have this target on one of the stages. Later mcb |

I couldn't get the vids to play?
Someone needs to make a target that runs around a corner right at you. My coyote hunting buddy wants a moving coyote target. I told him it would need rails to work.

MCB - I have a question on the scores of the last match....why did Larry R. B. get a DNF on stage 3? He was 2 shooters behind me. I know he didn't DQ?
I don't know if you know I was just wondering if had any ideas.....
