A couple of friends and myself are looking into this as well. We just all took our CCW classes and are hoping to learn more about the handling of our weapons.

We are also taking this class later in May, you may want to check it out...

Unless you plan on shooting bigger matches, I don't see a reason to become a membership to IDPA. There's practically no benefits at all, much less to keep Bill Wilson in ammo year to year

IDPA

go to tacticalshooters.com for examples of COF. it's a fun site...try the rosie, the first one on the site.
ALSO be very careful of the "HALF SABRINA" and the "FULL SABRINA".
maintain muzzle direction.

as for becoming a member of idpa, some clubs, if sanctioned, will require you to be a member eventually.
if you want to get classified in any of the divisions you must belong.

IDPA is a good shooting sport. Just don't go into it with the idea that it is tactical training. It has rules, timer, and score sheets = game.
If you like it, join and support the sport.

Took it a while back.
Mike and Dave are GREAT people and very good instructors.
In fact, I'm using them for a little one-on-one instruction to try and correct some bad habits.

Second and fourth Sunday is great, but it doesn't say anything about where?
It's NOT out at the Regoinal Shooting facility....

True while it is a sport IMO it will help with certain aspects of concealed carry. Mainly drawing, shooting/shooting on the move, and reloading. The only way to 'feel' it is to do it. While you can learn it in a tactical class, IDPA will give you a chance to practice it.
