IDPA and reloads.

Why wouldn't you do a tactical / retention reload on this stage?

Makes sense to me?

I am new to IDPA and it just seems it would save time to do other than an emergency / slide lock reload.

That's one of my only gripes about IDPA...the fact that it's all at the R.O.s discretion. It's to objective at some places.

Looking good.

Over on the other side of the sound in Sultan.

Any good IDPA matches on Whidbey. That would be closer for me than renton.

Nice.

I've been to a few renton IDPA matches. Was thinking about the norpoint matches in Arlington, however they are indoors.

Will check you folks out.

Just got back from deployment (US Navy) so looking forward to getting back into it.

I never use the Reload with Retention unless the stage briefing calls for it. I feel I can go way faster if I know exactly where I will reload. If your gun was functioning you could have easily shot the last round reloaded and continued the stage without loosing time to someon of similar skill using a reload with retention. Stage break-down and planning can make or break you in either IDPA or USPSA. Also I don't understand the hatred some people have for IDPA. It is still brown paper and steel targets. You get to move and shoot. You get to shoot period.

I guess reloading from slide-lock is much faster.
