If you want to win, pick the gun that you shoot well. For me, it's an XD Tactical. |

I loved shooting my first IDPA with my XD40 service. It is alot to take in at first, but IMO you are not a competent gun owner until you've competed in such an event. It simulates as close to a real stressful situation as I ever want to be, and forces you to do things you may skip at the range.
-reloading quickly -shooting while moving in all directions -swapping unexhausted mags to aid future maneuvers, (just like in video games) -addressing multpile threats using the "slice the pie" technique all things I never considered practicing before IDPA, and all clearly more important than your equipment choice. shoot what you like/carry. there is no reason that your scores can't be compared with your buddies in different divisions, if not officially, bet lunch or a beer. |
