I use a Safariland Holster. Cost about $40 but well worth it.

Perfect fit. use a little silicon grease (I use bow string wax) on the inside...rub it in and rag off any excess

I've used the XD gear holster, until the slide started rubbing against a rivet on my jean pocket. I have a Blade-Tech holster on order. I also have Blade-Tech holsters for my Sigs, they are hard to beat.

Blade-Tech Stingray for me, although Comp-Tac and Ky-tac are also top notch.

You have a holster already. It's the one that came with the gun. That is what I use and it works just fine.

The XD gear holster works, but if you wear jeans that have the copper rivets, watch out!! If you place the holster wrong, you can wind up with copper marks on your slide. I used the XD gear holster for awhile, but I really like my Blade-Tech holster. Plus, no rubbing on the copper rivets.

What model. It is quite common that Uncle Mike's holsters are not IDPA legal. Sure, at a local match you are fine. Wear one at a major and you will need to find a new holster to compete.

I use Blade-Tech holsters but Comp-Tac is also good. I used to use Ready Tactical holsters but to me they are not the same quality as the others (but they are cheaper). The quality of the kydex Blade-Tech appears to be better (or at least slightly thicker) and I prefer the belt attachments used by Blade-Tech to the sort of "hook" arrangement on the Ready Tactical holsters I have. I do like the Ready Tactical mag carriers but the kydex loop can eventually break off (I've see 3 or 4 do this over time).

The holsters that come with XD "gear" is fine. And even though they are probably the cheapest I personally have seen a lot of "issues" with Fobus holsters. I think they're a poor choice and you get what you pay for. Once they're broken in they seem to be ok but a lot of novices use these just out of the bag and they can be so tight that unholstering and holstering can be tricky.

I wear a Fobus paddle for my BUG, a CA Undercover .38sp. It was tight out of the bag, but 5 minutes (really) with my spousal unit's hair dryer and it has been perfect in every way.
just my $.02
