Alternative to IDPA

I posted this in another thread, but I think I'll start a new topic. Take a look and see what you think:

I think there are some interesting concepts here, it will bear watching.

Looks like the last update to the IDPA rules broke the fringe away. Good for them. IDPA has some strange (stupid) rules.

Looks like it maybe shaping up. I like their way of thinking. Nice to see that Comp-Tac has signed on with them . This thing may be the New Sport, especially if a few more manufacturers sign-on.

I really like the gun divisions:

single action auto
non-single action auto
revolvers

So, the question is, where does the XD fit in? The second question is: does it matter?

Their definition of single action is "cocked and locked." I think the XD will be in the non-single action. Can be cocked, but not locked.

I requested a copy of the draft rule book. Haven't heard back from them yet.

The "Pistol" rulebook is supposed to be done by Friday.

Cocked and locked versus not is fine with me. In fact, to really keep it KISS, it would be fine with me if they went with:

Revolvers
Semi-autos

I don't really think this organization will make it big time in a long term or (inter)national sense, but it'll be a fun group to play in for awhile. And who knows, I could be wrong about it's success. At least they seem responsive to membership input.
