Not knowing what will be involved with the selling of ammo, they didn't want to get stuck with large quantities of ammo they couldn't move so are taking the safer route. They can sell what they have and what's in the warehouse, but that's it for now. The associate has been there for quite some time and wasn't a newb. It was the same associate that sold me the Colt 6920 and remembered me because I was actually nice/polite during the transaction (Ironic, I know. Wouldn't everyone be nice/courteous/giddy buying an AR.).
A lot of rumors. Who knows, maybe WalMart is saying one thing to the media and another to the stores.

Went to Wally World today and the shelves were more barren than ever. Asked the guy at the sporting goods counter and he told me they were told not to order any more ammo until after the decision in Washington.

All you anti WM people can say what you want, but WM helps keep prices down for everyone. If WM stops selling ammo, prices will go up more. Smaller stores can buy in the same quanities and manufacturers will feel the loss in sales too. I know of two lgs that I personally saw buy ammo at WM and take it to their shops and resell at a very high markup. When questioned one guy didn't even try to lie, just said so what.

Well if Oblama gets his wishes Walmart is only protecting their stock holders from Barry. This is just another example of an out of control socialist.

I think it's a store by store basis. Both the Walmarts in my area are still stocking ammo

I work for NCR and am either working on an ATM or working in a Walmart. Talked to a couple Walmarts and none have quit ordering Ammo
EDIT: Also boycotting Wally world will do no good. THey get enough EBT money to run each store off of so either way you are still buying **** there either directly, or indirectly through taxes

I'm sure it'll reflect in their bottom line.

This myth was busted, a representative told a reputable gun owner's site that they are still stocking ammo. I know a guy who works for them and he said they have never been able to order ammo. Some stores are dry and some have some odd calibers.

They do not call in ammo orders. it is ordered at point of sale. once they get a full case ordered it ships.
unless the warehouse has split cases then it ships.
Walmart can not put ammo on a shelf if it is not available to buy. it is not just Walmart, it is all retailers.
