Sheriff's officials said later Friday they weren't sure the tear gas penetrated deep enough to reach the person inside, who they believed was 41-year-old Peter Keller, and officers were pulling back to reassess their options. The standoff continued into Friday evening.

they were talking multiple exits with a generator and tons of storage. I guess he had been working on it for 8 years. they said it was a "fortress" and they would rather blow him up than go in after him.
if that tells you anything.
I would guess they want to bury it and not give anyone any ideas.
