If i remember correctly, I think one of my colleges allowed u to store guns in ur room in a locked case, but no ammo. I wasn't into guns at the time so I only half heard it.

The few prepping things I've seen on kids away at college seemed to indicate bugging in place until the smoke clears, then trying to meet up with family after 3-4 weeks. Of course, you would also want the ability to get out of Dodge quickly if the need were to arise.

If you are in an off-campus apartment, I would suggest one of you getting some type of longarm, like an SKS. But again, this depends on what your plan is.

It never hurts for any one regardless of situation to have a BOB.

Heck even when I travel internationally for fun I take some preps. I already planned out what I want with me when I go with my wife to Turkey for two weeks here soon.

As a college student myself, budgeting and lack of money come into play in regard to preparation. I do a lot of hiking and outdoor stuff/camping/backpacking so I have gear that I could carry/ruck if I needed to get out of dodge. Because of my budget and financial situation, I only have my XD9 and a Ruger 10-22 that was my dads, so that'll have to suffice for now. I do have a couple hundred rounds of Federal HST 147grn and a bunch of ball ammo stocked up though. I plan on building an AR this summer after I save up some surplus cash.

Oh and I have plenty of booze, beer, ramen, and cereal for any impending doom. Maybe I could barter craft beer and bourbon haha
