Sunspot 1429
Is turning toward Earth and just fired off an X1 solar flare this morning expected to give us a glancing below in the next day or two.
However this spot that is 4 times the size of earth is still capable of more M and X class flares as it turns to face us head on.

This may or may not be doom on! Probably just minor disruptions to some radio frequencies and some awesome auroras but still worth watching even if just for the cool factor!

If the flare is large enough, and aimed directly at Earth. Then it would be similar to an EMP.
In the 1800's one hit that messed up the telegraph lines, and in the 1990's another one caused some problems with the electrical grid in Canada.
Usually, they just cause pretty northern lights.

1Lowlife if it was something I could shoot down believe me I would brother  Til then I'm gonna keep on keepin' on. If the world is gonna get flame broiled than it is what it is. Otherwise I just want to keep living a life of luxury with hot showers and an LCD tv.
