That may or may not be true. Lots of stuff you hear/see on the internet is propagated by aftermarket suppliers of gun doo-dads and foo-foo. Seems like no gun is good out the box, you have to add one thing or another to "make it work". Tell a lie enough times and it becomes fact. Maybe Saiga quality went down hill after I bought my 12 back in 2000, or maybe people have bought into the hype that they need to be fixed.
Oh, and they were cool guns back when they were cheap. Too expensive these days to fool with IMO.
