Mossberg has bad cuts in receiver... Plz help!!!
I have had my 500 for a few years now and had no problems at all. I went out today and shot 50 rds. I came back home to clean it and noticed huge cuts in the receiver...

Normal wear marks... Mine has them, as does most every other 500 I've looked at. My bet is you just haven't noticed them before.
What I'm not sure of is whether they are from the bolt's action or from shell rims during ejection? That is all I'm curious about.

Not that anything in particular would be 'wrong' with the bolt, but just it's normal areas of friction/impact during cycling.
If you don't know what in particular you're trying to fix... Don't.
And doing such would just remove more material and finish.

Shouldn't be an issue. My mom's new 20 gauge has 100 rounds through it and her wear marks are the same size as in my 12 gauge that has 600+ through it.
Normal wear...
