Mossberg 930 SPX

Who owns the mossberg 930 spx? I'm considering purchasing this as a home defense shotgun. Right now I am not interested in a pump and my research has led me to this option. Who has used the 930 spx and what are your thoughts about reliability, accuracy, handling? I'm strongly considering the pistol grip configuration.

From what i have read they are pretty poor as far as QC so inspect before spending your hard earned cash.
Only handled one and it felt like a solid weapon and a great option price wise vs the FN SLP.

I have seen several of them in 3gun shoots and they run really well. I'm going to purchase a 930 in the near future. If you want a pump the 500 is a nice option and they are cheap.

I've had one for a couple years. It consistently failed to chamber rounds. I sent it in to Mossberg about six weeks ago and just got it back. Haven't had the chance to get it out to the range again yet.

Be sure to look for the dreaded canted front sight before you purchase. I'd also look for the newest manufacture date possible. They've gotten better over the years from what I've seen and heard.

I've got one. I've had issues with 2 3/4 shells getting stuck in the bore. I probably wouldn't rely on the 930 for home defense

Was your issue across multiple brands of ammo?
