Mossberg 12ga = 1, Bat = 0
At 3:00 AM, my 9 month pregnant wife got out of bed to walk to the kitchen for a drink of water... her trip took 20 minutes, because she was on the kitchen floor trying to avoid being attacked by a BAT!...
The damn Bat flew into one of the roof vents...then down through the attic fan... and was flying around inside of our house...
Well... my wife had a clear shot to the bedroom... so she ran down the hall and into our bedroom... she woke me up... saying there was a Bat in our house... I was like... whatever... go back to bed... but I laid there thinking what the hell was I going to do about this Bat....
I jumped out of bed... turned on our bedroom light.... grabbed my Mossberg 12ga and proceeded to cycle the Remington 00 buckshot out of it... and load up some #4 buck... my wife was like "what are you doing?!?".... I just smiled... and said... I'm going go to take care of this Bat.... I gave her my extra pair of ear plugs and said "put these in your ears and stay under the sheets until you hear a loud boom..."
I put on a hat, put my sonic defender ear plugs in, grabbed my loaded 12 ga, and opened the bedroom door and headed down the hall....
That ****ing Bat dove straight at me... MANY times... I laid the gun down once I made it down the hall and into the living room... all the while I was ducking from this blood sucking rat...
I tried knocking it out of the air with a towel... then a pillow... nothing worked....
But after 2-3 minutes, the damn thing flew up to the attic fan louver and hung upside down... and just when I bent down to pick-up the 12ga it started to fly again....so I just waited his ass out... .... and kept ducking when it flew near me...
Then... it flew up to the attic fan one last... hung upside down... and I was ready for his ass this time.... BOOM!!!!!!
Here are the results:
CURRENT PROGRESS:
I've removed the attic fan louver and framed the hole... then added sheetrock...
And now that the mess is cleaned up, you can barely see damage to the existing sheetrock from the #4....

I dont want to be rude but i think in this case your an idiot. who shoots a shotgun in the house to kill a bat? a baseball bat or just about anything else would do.
But i will admit the results are amusing. i know know i would regret doing it after.

No regrets here... I removed the fan, framed the opening and have already hung sheetrock to cover the opening... I didn't care for the fan anyway... so this was a good excuse to frame it in now...
I thought it was hilarious... no one was harmed...

She was fine... she just grabbed the cleaning supplies and we went to rubbing the splatter off the walls...
There was nothing left of the bat... except vapor... haha

Its kinda cool because its your house. If it was mine I would have handled it another way. I am curious what your wife had to say about it once it was all over with. I shoot opossums out my kitchen window and my GF thinks Im crazy.
