Utah Shooters
I'm looking for anyone that is living in Utah and either close or within Utah County. I'm still new at the gun market, getting the terms, and everything, so wanting to hook up with some for some shooting and tips. Probably be a month or so before we can go out and shoot, but better to build the information base now.

I live in the SLC area (Taylorsville) and maybe interested on doing some group shoots though I travel a lot and sledom know more than a few days in advance if I'll be home.
I do have a question about informal outdoor shooting locations. I've noticed groups of shooters on the weekend off off SR 68/Redwood Road south of Lehi and about 1/3 of the way south of the north end of Lake Utah. Does anyone know if it's legal to shoot there without permission? The reason I ask is that there are not many indoor ranges that permit rifle fire from a 223 and none of the ranges would let you setup watermellons etc so you can blast them. I'd kind of like to be able to setup some watermellons etc and take high speed video/photos of them as I blast them. Brian |

Raptor -
You can always go out to the desert for that kind of thing. I haven't done it, and don't know where, but I'm sure someone will chime in

Up in Heber City is where I'm going to go. They have an open range with no range fee. They have pistol, shotgun and rifle there.
