I live out by the airport-- DIA, and am a member at the firing line. I go a couple-three nights per month. I'm also looking for an outdoor range, or any activities in my area.

xd.45 compact.

There's an outdoor range about an hour outside Denver off I70. I've never been there, but since you're already out East that might not be as much of a drive. http://www.crci.org/

There's always Lefthand Canyon just outside Boulder, but reading the stories from others i'm not sure i would want to go there unless during the week early in the morning or another time i would not run into anyone. I drove up there on Sunday and the area was packed.

Then there's the North shoot location up near Lyons, little further, but from what others say it's worth the drive. Then there's Pawnee up even further north. None are "ranges" but outdoor areas you can shoot. There's also Cherry Creek shooting range. Everyone says it's nice, but i think it requires some kind of park pass as well as a membership. I've only seen Lefthand, didn't shoot there, the others i haven't seen.

So I assume this weekend is out.

Boulder Rifle Club is open to the public on the first weekend of the month starting in April. It is a nice range. IIRC it cost about $10 to shoot for non-members.

I am anxious to see the range at Lyons. It was a little cold today for that though.

Tomorrow is out for me, but maybe next Thurs.

I work in Longmont a few days per month. I'll check out the Lyons range. I need to find more info on it first.

It's not a range, it's just a legal place to shoot on public land that many of the members from CO-AR15 use for club events. It's off the 66 just before the 7. Park at the call box and hike up a little bit. If we get a warm weekend i'm gonna head up there myself.

I don't think I'll be able to make it tomorrow. Now that I've moved, it takes me about an hour to get home to let the dogs out.

I may try and skip out of work early Friday to bust a few caps. I've got a new Grock to break in.

I'm going on Friday myself, what time are you gonna head down? I have to run to the DMV in the morning, but i want to head down in the afternoon sometime and get some trigger time.

And also, off topic, but like i said before i'm new here from CA. I need to register my truck on Friday morning, do i need to do any sort of emissions screening or anything like that? Who does that (any maintenance type shop?), and what is the cost generally?

I usually stay until 7 at least. I actually went today and shot a bit, but I plan to be there for a bit tomorrow too. I gotta watch what I spend on ammo! lol I'll just have to buy some .22 since it's so cheap.

IIRC, you only need it if your vehicle is >3 years old. If you fall into that category then it's $15-25 depending on the model year. There are special testing stations that you need to go to. http://www.aircarecolorado.com/ for all the info you need.
