Talking Calling All Az Xd Owners!!!

First of all someone make this a Sticky

Second, I want to have a XD shootout with all the members here that are from AZ and or the surrounding areas if interested. I have laid out a idea and I need people who are willing and have the time to help me out a bit.

WHEN: sometime in December. Preferably the 9th or the 16. depending on what day more people can attend. which is first order of business, what day is best for the group as a whole?

WHERE: Somewhere in Phoenix. I don't live there, but most members do so it would make sense to have it there. I need someone to find a place up there that can hold a group of about 10 or 15 shooters.

I also need opinions on what kinda shoot we should have, I was thinking of just something fun, like who can make the longest shot, best groups at xxyds. Whatever, nothing serious, just laughs and above all else safety, Also would you all be interested in a cookout? or eating somewhere afterwards?

lets hear some suggestions, I would also like to hear from other groups that have had XD shootout, what did ya'll do, what was good, what was bad. I have a friend that shoots a lot of matches at Rio Salado, which Rob shoots at fairly often, I am gonna talk to him to see if maybe he would talk with the "great one" about coming out. But that is probably a long shot...

Please post what you are willing to do to help, so I can get a idea of what need to be done and who is working on it

Rio Salado is a haul for me and most others not living in the Gilbert, Mesa area.
On the other hand, Ben Avery is the same for those folks I suppose.

You cannot legislate morality, and banning inanimate objects will never substitute for personal responsibility. Banning and limiting things merely makes them profitable to criminals via laws of supply and demand.

I doubt anyone is gonna travel further than those of us down in Yuma. I was thinking Ben Avery. Rio Salado would probably be hard to get. But it would be nice, They got some cool stuff up there.
Again I need idea's so start shouting them out...

im in for ben avery it thats the final choice. does it have to be at a range thou? there are several places outside of town that would be sufficient for shooting and a cookout.

i know theres more shooters in az on this forum that have responded.
if you have an idea, throw it out there.

Table Mesa Rd works for me as well. Great for shooting, picnics, and off roading.
