Just south of Lexington in Wilmore you'll find the Bluegrass Sportsman's League: www.bgslinc.com

IPSC/IDPA/GSSF, they have it all. Facilities for bullseye Pistol, Pistol Pits, Rifle (to 300 yards), air rifle, muzzleloaders, archery, trap, skeet... Hell, it's even an operational farm with hunting on the premises. It's 1400 Acres of Paradise.

PM me if you'd like to know more or have any questions.

EDIT: I just ran a mapquest and the BGSL is an estimated 1 hour 49 Minutes from Somerset. That's a fair piece, but might be worth it. If you wanted to head up early they also have camp grounds or you could stay the night someplace in Wilmore.

The USPSA matches at Wilmore (BGSL) are on the first Sunday of the month, and the IDPA matches are the third Saturday of the month. There is a very wide range of shooters' ability: Two of our shooters won their classes in the Ohio USPSA shoot last weekend, and one won the Kentucky 3 gun match. Others had excellent showings.

Still, there are rookies like me shooting, and new shooters every month who are treated like gold at the club: Good advice from shooters and a generally laid back crowd that likes to have fun. I started shooting there about 15 months ago, and have made good friends and improved my shooting tremendously. I look forward to the match every month.

We only cancelled one match last year, because it was so cold and snowy (February or March, I forget which) that the pasters wouldn't stick to the cardboard!

Otherwise, we shoot in the rain (I've got a video of that on there somewhere) snow, or sunshine.
