I sat down with the owner of Big Darby Creek Shooting Range this afternoon and finalized the details of the first ever Central Ohio XDTalk Shoot, scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 11th. Here are the highlights:

Sign-in/Registration at 10:00am
Safety meeting at 10:30am
Shooting starts at 11:00am
Break for lunch at 1:00pm
Shoot continues until everyone leaves or runs out of ammo!

As far as the shooting goes, we are planning two IDPA style stages and a steel plate shoot. We will time both stages "for fun", and everyone will get to shoot the plate racks (2 racks, 12 plates, timed from low ready) twice. There will be a prize for the fastest time on the plates.

Once everyone has completed the stages and plate race, there will be open shooting on the 50 yard range... Run whatcha brung! If there is enough interest, we will also open the 300 yard rifle range.

Lunch will consist of burgers and brats, chips and pop/water. There are also pop machines onsite for use throughout the day.

The cost will be $20 per shooter, which includes lunch and a full day of shooting. Non-shooters are welcome, but they will have to pay $4 for lunch if they want to eat.

Directions to the range can be found via a Mapquest link on the front page of their site.

If you're planning on coming, please post here. That will keep the post at the top as well as give me an idea on how much food I'll need to buy to feed everyone (Let me know if you're bringing a non-shooter that is going to eat). If you have any additional questions, post them here (for the benefit of everyone else) and I'll answer them ASAP.

Now I DEFINITELY need to jump my gunsmith's ass and get my 308 bbls back.

man i got to go to my sons fireman combat challenge sat & sunday in lexington KY this sucks ,

if he doesnt compete ill be there , he said a few guys werent sure they were goin to make it ,and i have to drive right by it to get there too , can i drop by for a quick howdy doo?

To all....

I will offer up the fun of playing w/ my garand and my M14S provided you bring your own ammo. For the sake of preserving my rifles I request it either be milsurp using m2 projectiles or factory 150 grain or lighter. I may have some available to shoot, but 3006 and .308 is getting spendy so I'd appreciate it if you want to shoot my ammo, you cover the cost.
