John Farnam coming to Pac NW Sep 22/23

John Farnam is coming back to the Pac Northwest and will be teaching a course Intermediate Pistol Course in Yakima. John is an internationally renowned trainer, author, and all around fantastic character. He is one of the greats of the shooting martial arts. His wife Vicki is also a talented instructor in her own right. The course is fast paced, exhausting and fun. There are 4 instructors and 12 to 16 students, so you’ll shoot a lot. PM me for details and I’ll help out anyway I can.
The DTI Defensive Handgun Course is designed to prepare the responsible, adult gun owner to handle, maintain, safely store, and use their firearm safely, responsibly, correctly, and effectively, so that they are able to successfully handle nearly any personal protection situation. The course will consist of classroom lecture/demonstration and live-fire exercises on the range.
Classroom instruction includes:
o Situation Awareness
o Threat Evaluation
o The Force Continuum
o Courtroom Savvy
o The latest information on the physio/psychological aspects of lethal encounters.
Live-fire exercises on the range include:
o Threat Evaluation
o Risk identification and reduction
o Lethal threat containment and management
o Precision shooting
o Discretionary shooting
o Low-light shooting (with and without a flashlight)
o Cover and movement
o Performing under stress
Tactical training is conducted in a realistic manner, stressing correct use of cover, movement, challenges, and other important individual tactics. In addition, students will practice close and extremely close encounters and weapon control.
This two day course is usually offered with a low light shooting session at the end of the first day.
The fee for this course is $495.00.

I don't list my guns - I know glocks, FALs, and AKs but I'm not sure my ability to fill a gunsafe with guns make me an expert on anything.

All that you can depend on from a 45 is that it will drill a .45 - .70 inch hole about 14 inches into someone. There will not be "energy dump", people will not fly backwards, and they will not necessarily fall as if they have been struck by lighting.

Still have a couple of spots. Some folks have dropped out. Give it some thought. Especially if you are new to training.
