TRP Gathering (PA) June 9, 2007 Langhorne Rod & Gun Club

The original post is here: http://www.therallypoint.org/forum/i...p?topic=1323.0

Okay folks I didn't arrange this, but I know that Jamie Young (He's a member here but normally only drops by to post event notifications) would love to have all the XDtalk folks out.

This is a great club and it's fairly easy to find.

I can help provide directions if you need them.

It's in South Eastern Pennsylvania, but even if you aren't in SE PA and you'd like to come. Let us know.

I'd love to meet some more XDtalk folks.

I know the last PA meet I was at we had people from NY, NJ, MD, and DE. So if you feel like making the drive we'd love to have you.

I think I speak for Jamie in saying that this will be a family friendly event so bring the whole family. Heck bring someone who's never been shooting before. That's part of the point of it all.

I'll be sure to pack up the guns and plenty of ammo.

The Pennsylvania Rally Point will be at The Langhorne Rod and Gun Club.

There will also be a Maryland Rally Point the same weekend. You might have to check out http://www.therallypoint.org for more information.

Theme: Combat Tupperwarefest
Date: Saturday, June 9th
Place: www.langhornerodandgunclub.org
Langhorne Rod and Gun Club
215 Stoney Ford Road, RD.. 2
Holland, PA 18966
Pennsylvania-RallyPoint
Cost : $15 per person - Anyone that is a first time shooter will get in for free. There will be NRA Certified Firearms instructors available for instruction at no charge.

Small Bore Range - 10-50yds
Big Bore Range- 50yds-200yds

No Full-Autos and unfortunately, 50 Cals are no longer allowed. This is a great place to shoot though and not capacity limits.

This is a very relaxed environment and both ranges should be clear for shooting with a few schedule events that should only take up part of the range.

Scheduled Events:

9am- Doors open

10am- Glock Care and Maintenence Course - This is one of two schedule classes for the day and it is FREE with your Admission. We're working on getting the tools for this and we should be acquire a dozen of them. If you have the Glock Armorer's tool, bring it. If not we should be able to get one for you if you tell us you are coming. Please PM/Post or Email me or Jamie if you are taking this.

11:30am-12:30 Lunch is served at the Small Bore Range

1pm- Jason S. will teach the first lesson of the new NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home (1hr) this is FREE with your $15 Admission.

After the PPOH course ends Barry B. will conduct Position Rifle Clinic

9am-5pm - Fun is scheduled

EVERYONE MUST READ

Range Rules *Click and read*

Firearm Safety- If anyone attending has never had formal firearm safety instruction please contact a Range Officer before you step onto the firing line. You will be giving a safety briefing. Please read the above rules . We will have several NRA Certified Firearms Instructors available to brief you on range safety conduct. Anyone violating the rules will be removed from the firing line. Bring a positive attitude because you will be held accountable for any violations you make.

More details and events will be added in the coming weeks.

Please let us know if you are coming, even if it's the day before. We need an accurate head count for food and drinks.

WE NEED NRA Instructors

If you are an NRA Certified Firearms Instructor and you would like to volunteer to teach a new shooter. Please step up to the plate and contact me. We may have a record number of new shooters at this and I may need some back up. All new shooters should I.D. themselves at the registration and meet at the small bore range.

TheRallyPoint.org Team.
If you have any questions you can PM or email me or PM Jamie.

Spread the word.

This shoot is going to be for the XD folks.

Combat Tupperwarefest is going to be specifically for you guys. You can bring guns that aren't in the plastic category but we'll see if the XD crowd can beat the Glock and M&P crowd.

Yes, it's legal. You're far safer coming to PA with a gun than the other way around.

On another note, does anyone at XDTALK know an XD Armorer that would be willing to do a class for this? We have somebody doing one for Glocks and it would be cool to get somebody to do the XD.

If you are going to take the FREE Glock Armorers Course or the 1st Lesson of the new NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home class please PM/EMail or post if you are definitely coming.

I'm running around on about 12 boards trying to count heads for this, I would appreciate it if people would post over at http://www.therallypoint.org/forum/i...p?topic=1323.0 So I can add your name to the list and not miss you. If you are defanitely coming and don't see your name listed, let me know ASAP. I'm getting a very high response from people and I want to make sure we don't over book the classes, if we have to, I'll try and get Jason to hold another Glock class later in the day.

I'll try my best to be there with several hole-makers in the .300"-.400" range.

Ah. Its on my 25th birthday so I may or may not make it. I have not yet decided if I am going to the Poconno race that weekend, so if my passes fall through I may make the trip unless the woman has something planned.

I'll definitely be there, as will my fiancee, and we have Mr. Jody Hudson coming up for it, too. So add three of us from Delaware to the count.

+1 for it being a family thing. Everyone is very friendly, helpful, and even willing to share the toys. If anyone wants directions coming from the south up I-95, let me know. I'll be taking I-95N from Delaware, and I think the easiest way only involves 3 or 4 left turns.
