Do you have to be a member of the BSL to participate in these?

Titus, I'll beat Corey to the punch here. The answer to your question is NO!
The IPSC/USPSA/3-Gun matches at the Bluegrass Sportsmen's League near Wilmore, Ky are OPEN matches. Anyone/everyone is welcome. If you have not shot an IPSC/USPSA or IDPA match at BGSL before, we will give you a 30 minute safety briefing, then you're good to go. We start setting up stages about 9:00am (volunteer help is always appreciated), sign-ups start at 9:30, squad assignment and shooting starts about 10:00. We do the New Shooters Safety Check at 9:30 sharp, so for your first time, come a little early. We usually shoot 4 pistol stages and 1 or 2 rifle or shotgun or combination stages. Weather is not usually a factor. Today we got soaked, but we started out with 42 shooters. Some the wimpy ones like me left early after 4 stages, but that's ok. IDPA is the same, OPEN matches. IPSC matches are held on the FIRST Sunday of the month, IDPA matches are on the Saturday before the THIRD Sunday, and during the warmer months, we have Bullseye matches (second Sunday) and SASS (Cowboy) matches on the FOURTH Sunday. We also have one of the largest Glock (GSSF) matches in the country, usually in the late fall, but I'm not sure of the date for 2007. Again, ALL these matches are OPEN to public and everyone is welcome. http://www.bgslinc.com/ for more information. |
