My thoughts regarding the MI Sectional Match...
  • 10 Good/Challenging stages
  • Sun was a killer, good call with the tents
  • The ROs were great and very helpful. No Range Nazis; I like that.
  • A lot a good shooters, which is always nice.
  • Great lunch (didn't like that I had to pay extra for a drink )
  • Too much drama in Squad 9 (started with 9 shooters, we finished with 5).
  • Suggestion: If you are going to Chrono, pull and weigh a bullet.
  • Suggestion: Create a lunch plan (e.g. after shooting your 5th stage, break for lunch). The afternoon breakdown and delays was crazy and only frustrated everyone.
On a personal note, I can confidently say this was the worse match I shot this year. I was draggin' arse all day and I could not shoot to save my life; I was tired. Although I finished 7th overall in Production, I truly gave up after the shooting the 5th stage. I was disgusted with myself, my attitude and my performance.

On a positive note, it was great seeing Norm and Rob.

(You remember the no shoot contest stage)I won with seven
I had a great time the delay killed my I game I would even maybe lean towards a lunch break when shooting finishes up than awards.I was running late so I had to bolt before the awards.
Was great watching ben and chatting(JD ,Sturm and O.S.).At least Ralphy no longer intadaites me.I he is fricken hilarious. He placed quite well in l10.I am going to try to re-figure and see how much an improvement major scoring would have played.Maybe shoot l-10 next year.(I have a funny feeling they plan to tighten the rules quite a bit next year)

JD, I wish you would have awoken me from my depressed stupor. I was out of it and missed it during the walk-through.

Rob, Major scoring is a world of difference. I too am thinking of shooting Limited next year.

The stage from Hell - Hostage Haven (Stage 6). As you are well aware, we were backed up at least two squads on 6 all afternoon. Matt Cheely ran the shooters from your squad, I followed with the clipboard (and actually scored the first four targets). I'm pretty sure that Dave and Frank (who RO'ed Stage 3) were helping us when your squad ran 6 - if so, Dave totaled and got your signature on the scoresheet.

Aha, Matt did run us, that is why. We were right behind Rob and Norm's squad, sitting around waiting for those slackers to hurry up. The scoring on tha stage is funny. A lot of penalty points were given on that one.

The Mikes and No-Shoots tended to eat some folks up and I imagine that the diagonal No-Shoots messed with quite a few shooter's heads. When I shot on Saturday (Staff day), I had a total of 11 penalty Mikes (plus 6 no-penalty Mikes on 7 - I didn't even wave at the mover) and 4 No-Shoots all day - 5 of the Mikes and all 4 No-Shoots were on Stage 6. I opted to shoot Single Stack, with the 8 round mags adding to the fun...

I've been seeing more and more No-Shoots behind poppers and plates lately, something I am definitely not growing fond of. On the other hand, nailing the steel on the first shot takes the No-Shoot out of the equation.

Any comments on Stage 7 ("Got Mags???")?

Got mags was a complete adrenlina rush.Seems to be the only video I have of myself must watched it 10 times last night.I even impressed at my own reload speed .But on the other hand it is just plain mean to have to put mags on the belt.Had to of lost 5-10 seconds mine are designed for removal only.Would been quicker to shove it in my pocket

Norm would have a better idea than I. All of the videos I have hosted I received from Norm. Do you have them as a file that you can e-mail me?
