Do you want to shoot skeet, or trap, or just shoot clays?

Skeet - 8 shooting positions in a half circle and clays thrown at different angles. It is meant to simulate bird hunting.

Trap - 5 shooting positions and the clays are thrown from a single location.

Sporting Clays - 10 to 18 stations and a wide variety of shooting angles and speeds.

You can also just get together with some buddies and throw clays with a hand thrower.

The key to each is learning the proper distance to lead each shot and being sure to get your gun properly to your shoulder before taking the shot.

The only way to get good at it is shoot a LOT and learn by doing.

The good news is, even if you suck it's fun.

What we do is play a game call elimanator. We use an automatic clay thrower (shoots out clays in unpredictable positions). We have 5 people or so and each throw 2 or 3 bucks in a pot, then we line up. The first person shoots at the first clay, if they miss the second person can shoot at it and eliminate them from the game. If you want to play we usually go out on Sundays in Platteville. Your welcome to come as long as your sane, but not sane enough to mind us. We usually practice for a little while before we start up.

That sound like a fun game.

Does the winner have to buy the first round after the day of shooting?
