Talk to your legislators and complain about their absurd laws and regulations placed on firearm manufacturers. Many firearm manufacturers refuse to do business in the state, and I can't really say I blame them.

I love my BiTone. Started shooting USPSA last month and I've already added a magwell and have the PRP Ultimate Match trigger on order (as well as other PRP parts)

Because it costs a lot to develop a special model with all the California-legal crap, and then on top of that you must pay the ransom to the State to be on the infamous "Roster of Handguns Allowed For Sale".

Too much legal exposure and too much financial outlay for them, so they say screw it.

Anyways, you can definitely get one in CA if you want one -- legally. Go to CalGuns.com forum and search for the "Single Shot Exemption". That thread even has a list of FFL dealers who can walk you through the entire process.

I'm in San Diego, and love mine!

We do complain, but the anti's are in the majority in this state. The only recourse for us is through litigation, and that has proved successful thus far, albeit with many, very large hurdles still to come. The excellent Cal Guns Foundation has already scored some great victories and is on the front lines of the 2A rights battle in CA.

I've got the XDm45 5.25 model. It's great. I really like it a lot.

In hindsight, though, I wish I'd gotten it in .40s&w instead for USPSA Limited competition.

Question about/for Rob Leatham: What does Rob shoot in competition? Is it the new XDm 5.25"?

Just curious.

Thanks.

Yes he does, a Black on Black 9mm , just heavily modified.

I bought the 5.25 in 9mm first. Not trying to rain on the parade but I was disappointed in the accuracy. Better than my Browning BDM 9mm but not better than my stock/standard Colt 1911 guns. I was hoping for more/better accuracy.

I do like the gun but its a bit big for every day carry so I bought the 3.8 XDM in 9mm. Funny thing is you can't tell the difference in group sizes between the two guns. Both my sons shoot better groups with the 3.8" version.

I'm thinking about getting a standard metal/black front sight for the 5.25 model as that glowing sight makes focussing more difficult.

I'm not a competition shooter and never will be. Shooting in the back yard or the fields was always more fun that shooting on a range (variety of targets and differing ranges makes it fun.)

Still thinking about trigger improvements but I'm reluctant to pay more for a trigger for a gun that could/should have had a nicer trigger. I know its a design thing but hey, it just seems a shame it wasn't done better to start with and yet the smaller aftermarket companies can do it better later.

I probably won't buy another 5.25 but I'm pretty sure I'll buy another 3.8" XDM, based on my experience with the first two guns.

I'm super happy with my XDm 40 Comp... Only thing I would add is the PRP trigger kit and maybe one of those mounts so I can add a reflexsive sight.
