XDTalk, where to begin. I got out of the Marine Corps in 2006 and moved to a city I'd never lived in for a job. I was in a ground combat unit in the Corps and was the NCOIC of the armory. Needless to say, me and my peers talked a lot about weapons; partially because they were our livelihood and partially because we all happened to be gun people. The same was true in the small town I grew up in. Most, if not all of my friends hunted and shot recreationally. We'd share stories and tips about what weapon/ammo we used to bag which buck. It was very ingrained in our culture. Now that I live in a larger metropolitan area, far from the Corps and the friends of my youth, I find myself alone in my gun hobby. Even my wife sort of shrugs it off as almost juvenile as I sit and reload 40 while we watch tv. She is happy that I have a hobby but isn't at all interested in joining me. XDTalk has provided me with "friends" that share my passions. I can come on here and ask or answer questions, discuss the political climate surrounding the 2nd amendment or just post ridiculous pictures to get a laugh; all with people who enjoy the same things I do. Getting on here for a little while each day is an excellent escape and opportunity to congregate with like-minded people. In short, it is important to me and I have a feeling it will be part of my life for a long time.

Purchased an XD45 this spring, came here to find out some specifics about my particular model and liked it so much I decided to stick around, lurking, learning, and posting when I can.

I started coming to XDtalk when I was researching buying a XDM. Now I keep coming to get more information about the XDM that I bought and general gun knowledge.

I stalked these boards for quite some time before making my first post. I created an account just short of 2 years ago to make my first post which was to introduce myself and ironically enough... announce the purchase of an XD9 Subcompact and a Crossbreed SuperTuck Deluxe holster. =) That has been my EDC ever since. A match made in heaven!

I come to XDtalk.com because i've never felt more welcome at a forum. The members on here are willing to help with any problem they can, and they make conversation about the things I am interested in.

In fact, I have a thread going Remington 870 problem where I posted a problem I was having with a Remington 870. The gun was sent back to Remington twice, and still no full repair was done. I got fed up with it, and two gentlemen (Spooled & Charles B) gave me good detail as to how to polish the chamber myself. I got the supplies I needed, attempted it myself, and took the gun out yesterday to run 75 shells through it. It ended up working just fine!

The staff and members of XDtalk are fantastic. I'm glad to be a part of this forum, and i'm glad they have all welcomed me!

I come here because I want to see what can be done to my pistol, where I can find the parts to do it to my pistol and also talk to other like minded people who can give me info on some problems they might have had and how they fixed the problems. It is also a great place to find companies that make great parts to upgrade my pistol. BTW, I traded my new Gen 4 Glock 23 for an XDm 40 because I love these pistols!
