1st time to range after PRP Drop-in Trigger
Finally got to the range after installing my PRP Drop in Trigger in my 9mm XDM. It makes a considerable difference. My groups are tighter and the break helped cure my left of center hits.
My only complaint is the trigger seems to pinch my finger. It will take some getting used to.
One more thing, after 2000 rounds without a problem, I had 1 Fail to Fire with WWB, 115gr, FMJ. The striker imprint looked good and the round fired when tried again. Need to keep an eye on this as I changed the striker spring with the trigger kit.
My daughters also went with me. It is really fun to see how well they shoot. One of them wants a tiny gun, the other wants a rifle!

I have read, both here in the XD forum and on one of the S&W forums complaints on FTF's.
Although I have never had an FTF in my XD9 service, I have had 2 FTF's in my .40S&W Shield. Both had really nice dimple right in the center of the primer.
It was deep enough that I never though of trying to fire again. I showed the 2 shells to the on-sight gun smith and he believed that the dimple looked completely normal, and that the primer is probably bad.
The whole point of this post is that the FTF's were bulk 100 round Winchester white box. This is consistent with the thread in the S&W forum, as well as this thread and a few other posts on FTF's.
Anyone else have problems with Winchester white box ammo?

I have shot 1100-1200 rounds of WWB through my XDm, this was the first failure of any type with this pistol.
As I said in the original post, I modified the pistol with a PRP Drop-in trigger kit. Part of this kit is a reduced power striker spring.
So, in my case, it could have been the ammo - although the round fired the second time it was tried. Or it could be the reduced power striker spring.
Time will tell.

I've had the Winchester White Box from Wallyworld fail to fire on several occasions both in my 9mm and 45 BEFORE I had PRP kits installed (one was installed, one I did the drop in). Everytime they failed there was a perfectly centered primer strike, the issue was 100% the ammo. I've NEVER had any issue like this with any other brand.
It's cheap, it's not Russian so it won't ruin your match barrel, but the WWBox does have failure to fire issues.

Put 200 rounds of WWB downrange last night, 0 failures. So I won't be putting the original striker spring back in.
I do have to say, I do not like the surface of the PRP trigger. It pinches my trigger finger. I'd like to see the inner portion of the outer trigger to be chamfered a bit.

I've been thinking about getting the PRP Drop In Kit but I'll have to look at some more posts. This is the first complaint I've read about the trigger. Is there that much space that it pinches your skin?

I have had mine for about a year. I really liked it when I pu it in and I'm still liking it. Helped the trigger pull out a lot. I havnt had any failures with mine, and I can't say that it pinches my finger either.

Just put one in myself. I'm glad to hear someone else say something about the new trigger pinching your finger. Thought it was just me. I'm sure we'll either get used to it, adjust finger position or modify it.
Overall love the trigger kit though!

Get a sheet of 600 grit sandpaper and cut some long thin strips. Slide a strip between the trigger safety and the trigger and sand the trigger's edge where it meets the safety lever.
The problem is that the safety lever travels farther into the trigger than the stock trigger exposing the finger pad to a channel. smooting out the edges of that channel will help, but won't completely eliminate it.

I'd say the trigger doesn't affect me because of my gnarly "man hands", but it's more likely that I just have a smooth trigger.... Either way, nary a pinch from it.
